Tips on Planning a
Family Vacation

You’re excited because it’s time to start planning a vacation with your family. A great place to start is simply making some family time together to decide where you want to go and the dates.
Let your children ask questions about the trip and get them involved in the planning.
Your vacation should a unique adventure for every member of the family.
Here are some tips for trip planning with kids at di erent ages and stages:
1. Preschoolers/Kindergartners - Give young children a list of fun things to do in the place you are going. Show them some pictures of where you are going such as the Mayan Ruins in Mexico or the Sesame Street charac- ters at Beaches Resort. Find their interests and listen to some of the things they may want to participate in.
2. School-Age Kids - What are some of the interests your child has? Do they love adventure and maybe would love to try snorkeling, or exciting water parks, maybe even arts and crafts? 3. TeensandTweens-Adolescentscrowd-sourceeverything else with their friends, so encourage them to talk to their peers about your trip and ask for suggestions (you might even think about bringing one along). Teens like to feel grown-up, so help yours nd something a little challenging to do — maybe they would love to learn to sail, or windsurf or just hang out at the teen center.
