Walking Tours of Ghostly & Tragic
Tales in Castle Rock • 7pm Oct. 6/7, 13/14, 20/21, 27/28
Join the Castle Rock Historical Society for a walking tour of Castle Rock featuring tales of ghostly and tragic events in Castle Rock’s history. Come hear stories of the Cantril School, The Old Stone Church, The B&B Café, Hangman’s Gulch and more. Tours begin/end at the Castle Rock Museum at 7pm.
Please dress for the weather.
Tours are free, donations are encouraged. Reservations are required:

DC Elks’ Chili Cook Off - October 23
You’re invited to join the Douglas County Elks 2873 for their Chili Cook Off & Silent Auction Sat., October 23, 1pm at The Calf Center, 2330 I-25 in Castle Rock. Enjoy food, family fun, and entertainment. See ad on page 6.
Spooktacular – October 23
It’s Halloween and time for fall fun with the entire family. Join us to celebrate all things not-so-spooky at Spooktac- ular. Family-friendly costumes are encouraged, but not required. Activities include games, prizes, food, and of course, candy. This free event is held outdoors 1–4pm at Philip S. Miller Park, so please dress warmly.

Join The Castle Rock Historical Society for a walking tour of Castle Rock featuring tales of ghostly and tragic events in Castle Rock’s history. Tours will be 7:00–8:00pm Wednesday & Thursdays in October – Oct. 6th & 7th, 13th & 14th, 20th & 21st and 27th & 28th. They’ll begin and end at the Castle Rock Museum. Please dress for the weather. Castle Rock Starlighting – November 20 Presented by the Castle Rock Chamber, the Castle Rock “Lighting of the Star” has been a community event shared by residents dating back to 1936. This year’s celebration will again be in the historic Wilcox Square from 2–7pm and will include hot chocolate, non pro t booths, strolling entertainers, live entertainment and of course Santa will be present for photos and visits. The Starlighting ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 pm and the Lighting of the Star will be at approximately 5:30 pm. See ad, page 10.
