Likith Reddy, MD, received FIAI funds to volunteer on a Mercy Ship docked in West Africa where he performed several plastic surgery procedures on individuals without access to adequate care.
Serving Abroad Aboard
Each year, money donated to the Joel T. Allison Faith in Action Fund by the Graves Foundation is used to pay the total trip costs for BSWH volunteers to serve on an Africa Mercy Ship. During FY2018, four BSWH medical staff members and clinical staff had their service funded.
Volunteers who participate in medical missions
or serve aboard a Mercy Ship often return with renewed enthusiasm and appreciation for their work at BSWH, in addition to a deeper understanding of their calling and greater ability to care for patients from different cultures.
