“Erica, do we have an editorial meeting today?” was a typical question
asked every Monday morning. It was then that the staff met during
lunch to discuss and coordinate the many tasks that come with the
production of the yearbook. This year, the staff consisted of five
seniors, whom were petrified to eliminate dot-dots for the sake of their
personal well being. Yearbook is a challenging and exhausting task.
Each day, Laura struggled to have her designs approved by the rest of
the staff. Ally seemed to experience great difficulty with archives and
mugshots. Yearbook taught Cristi that, when taking pictures, the
subject to be photographed must be in focus. According to Erica, Lucy
always made someone cry by the end of the period. Erica always asked
herself the same question, “Why did I take yearbook again?” And Mrs.
Abreu had to deal with the infinite amount of charts and photocopies
that she likes to make. In the end, after overcoming personal differ
ences and the demands of the task at hand, the yearbook staff, surpris
ingly enough, was still on friendly, speaking terms by the end of the
