Building strong foundations
If the early brain connections are strong, this creates a solid base on which to
build later skills.
Just like a building, if the base is weak, it means all later connections
and skills will be harder to build and less strong.
In the next section, we will
explore the main factors that
can make a difference to the
number and strength of these
early brain connections.
We will then go on to look at
how we can help young people
to ‘build their brains for better
futures!’
