Keep in mind that, you have a few seconds to make an impression on every attendee as they
approach your booth. Use this time wisely to slow them down and initiate a discussion. You stand a
better chance of “connecting” if you engage them and discuss their needs.
STAND UP AND BE RECOGNIZED: Always remember to stand up and greet attendees. We
strongly recommend a folding director’s chair (stool height) or a stool to raise you to eye level,
placed at front of booth. Show consumers that you want their business. If you sit back expecting
them to come to you, you’ll appear disinterested and you’re efforts will NOT be productive (no
leads).
Experiment with different opening lines and gauge which are most effective. Some basic
examples are: “Would you like to see how this works?” “Would you like to pet…” Do you have a fa-
vorite…., can I tell you how we make our …”.
Be sure your booth clearly displays your company name, the products and services you provide
and any show specials or discounts you’re offering. Motion and “eye catching” displays attract
attention. Use interactive displays to involve and engage attendees.
Signs and product samples, where applicable, will do the most to represent your company.
Are you hiring, or do you need volunteers? Make a sign and let people know!
Advertise on Social Media Be sure to let your clients know where you are during the
weekend. Tweet or Facebook the home show, and any new products you’re displaying. It creates
interest and will bring old clients back to you, so you don’t have to drive to their home.
Use leads slips Be sure to mark how aggressive the lead is, and when to follow up.
All shows have slow times. Those who continue to greet attendees are always the most successful.
