This gives the lie to the conclusion included in paragraphs 6.5 and 6.6 of the Statement, particularly
that “the current revised planning application fully addresses the comments raised to date through
various stages of public consultation and more detailed discussions with planning and urban design
officers at Mid Sussex District Council and by extension their consultees”. Patently it does not.
We described this Statement of Community Involvement as both highly selective and self-serving,
which we believe from an examination of the content is self-evident. This is perhaps not surprising
as it is specifically designed to give the impression that the new application is a model of both design
and consultation – something it singularly fails to be.
We shall return to these issues in considerable more detail in our submission on the application
itself.
