                Comments:       We presume that Application DM/19/1025 at Wealden
                                House supersedes DM/18/1548 at the same location,
                                that we understand was rejected.

                                We note that the previous proposal was for 71
                                apartments (18 one-bedroom and 53 two-bedroom; of
                                which 18 affordable). We note that the revised proposal
                                is for 54 apartments (15 one-bedroom and 39 two-
                                bedroom, none affordable).

                                We consider that our reasons for objecting to the
                                previous proposal still apply to the revised proposal. Our
                                main objections are as follows.

                                The reduction from 71 to 54 units will still impact road
                                safety adversely because of the additional traffic using
                                the A22 access shared with the Carlton House
                                apartments and the other building adjacent to the
                                proposed development.

                                The elevation drawings continue to indicate that the
                                exterior of the blocks will be in a very unattractive style,
                                quite out of keeping with Ashurst Wood and conspicuous
                                because of the cutting down of trees that was initiated
                                by the developers prior to submitting their proposals.

                                We object to the planning application and consider that
                                it should be rejected.
