PROJECT ORG CHART & TEAM
◆ Mega projects will likely be assigned a Project Executive to assure that the PD and
owner have access to the appropriate level of leadership and support.
◆ Project Directors for Mega Projects must be capable of focusing at the macro level and be supported
by a competent junior PD or strong Senior Project Manager who can focus on the micro level. An
Executive PD and Operational PD (or DOC) may also be needed—build a robust team.
◆ The Haskell leadership team must be able to engage with the client at
the C-suite level. Establish a “one-on-one” approach.
◆ Project Directors must be able to manage months in advance because all
tasks and operations take longer duration to accomplish.
◆ Project Directors must be effective team managers. Specific technical proficiency is a
bonus, but not an absolute requirement with a talented Design Manager.
◆ Project Directors and Design Managers must be able to manage across disciplines, holding
all team members responsible and accountable for completing obligations.
◆ Project Directors will be taking on a role that is abnormal to typical operations.
This needs to be an individual that is 100% focused on one project.
◆ The Haskell leadership team must be dedicated to the project.
◆ A plan needs to be in place for dealing with any changes to the project team during execution
◆ For projects over three years in duration, we should have a team relocation and engagement strategy.
