The Healthy Maternity Program connects mothers-to-be Tobacco Cessation Coaching Program
with personalized health advice and emotional support from This free service, offered to BCBST members, assigns a lifestyle
experienced maternity nurses. They can help ind complications coach who can help you develop a personal plan to become
early, set up doctor and specialist visits, offer breastfeeding and remain tobacco-free. The program includes:
support by connecting you with a lactation counselor, help
you make healthy lifestyle choices, and even provide additional y Unlimited inbound calls to your coach
support to high risk mothers. If you enroll within the irst 20 y An individualized action plan
weeks of your pregnancy and intend to breastfeed, you may be
eligible to receive a free electric breast pump. Beneits include y Free 8-week supply of nicotine replacement therapy if

assigned nurse came prepared to our irst call with
such in-depth knowledge of my medical history. She
signed me up for their weekly informational emails,
and then gave me her phone number and let me
know I can call with questions anytime Monday
through Friday. As a new mom, knowing I have an
expert I can reach out to is so reassuring—especially
knowing she’ll be there for postpartum support if
needed.
