Dear Malaysia Chapter:
On behalf of ASHRAE and its more than 54,000 members around the world, I congratulate the Malaysia Chapter on your 35th anniversary.
ASHRAE’s society theme this year, “The ASHRAE Digital Lighthouse and Industry 4.0.” focuses on reimagining the building industry by not only integrating industry segments, but technology. Industry 4.0 and the Digital Age of Connection are changing almost every facet of the design, construction, and operation of built solutions.
ASHRAE will lead the industry in becoming a part of the digital transformation that will guide the building industry into the next decade and beyond. Collaboration, value, digital and off-site are changing our ecosystem right before our eyes.
I encourage the Malaysia Chapter to challenge what the work of our industry is, how it should be approached, and where it can be performed. Your contributions to the Society and utilization of ASHRAE training, guidelines and standards will provide opportunities to engage our workforce in activities that seek and create value. Some of you have already started to travel this path. It is up to us to determine how we benefit from a connected digital world. The efforts of the Malaysia Chapter will positively impact the global built environment for generations to come.
