However, ASEAN leaders should take the COVID- 19 impact and the current time of low oil prices as an opportunity to make serious energy policy reforms with regards to fossil fuel subsidies. Developing economies should reach out for
international support to ensure that national green stimulus economic recovery packages are sufficient to make long-lasting impact in lowering the GHG emission trajectory. It is the fervent hope that ASEAN leaders will take steps to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 not only in the long-haul effects of the pandemic on economy but also the energy landscape and its readiness to support sustainable economic activities in post COVID-19.
