Dubai Municipality initiates Dh112m project to upgrade Dubai Creek pier, infrastructure

DUBAI (ALETIHAD)

Dubai Municipality has launched a Dh112 million project to refurbish and strengthen the
supporting walls along Dubai Creek's Deira side.

This initiative aims to enhance the creek's retaining walls by upgrading the dock and
repairing sections that have deteriorated over the past 50 years, thus preventing
potential flooding during severe weather. The project is designed to reduce disruptions
to commercial traffic due to flooding or adverse weather conditions.

The project will be carried out in two phases. The first phase focuses on restoring a 2.1
km stretch on the Deira side, with the area divided into segments for sequential work to
allow continuous docking traffic. The second phase will extend to a 2.3 km portion on
the Bur Dubai side.
