Dubai Municipality has formed a strategic
partnership with Majid Al Futtaim – Retail, which
owns the sole franchise to operate Carrefour in the
United Arab Emirates. The goal of this partnership is
to improve coordination and collaboration in order to
guarantee the long-term supply of crucial food
products in Dubai's local markets.
The marking of the MoU between the two elements
denotes a huge achievement in propelling food
safety efforts and tending to expected future
emergencies in the area, it expressed.
The agreement is dedicated to establishing a sustainable food system and fostering flexible food supply chains, stated
Engineer Alia Al Harmoodi, the Acting CEO of the Environment, Health, and Safety Agency, after signing the deal with
Jean-Luc Graziato, Chief Commercial Officer of Majid Al Futtaim Retail, at the Gulfood exhibition, as per GD.
The objective is to raise the personal satisfaction in the emirate, lining up with the vision and orders of the savvy authority
and the goals illustrated in the Dubai Food Security Procedure, which expects to broaden import sources and focus on
guaranteeing the accessibility of high-dietary benefit merchandise, he expressed.
"The agreement will support Majid Al Futtaim –Retail in strengthening the flexibility, readiness, and preparedness of the
emirate's supply chain to address challenges and crises. This will be achieved through efficient coordination and sharing
of strategic food commodity data on the Food Security Platform. The objective is to ensure that all members of society
have access to healthy, safe, nutritious, and affordable food, even in times of crisis and emergencies," added Al
Harmoodi.
Graziato said: "Majid Al Futtaim - Retail places great importance on food security as a key component of
our sustainability strategy. We are delighted to collaborate with Dubai Municipality in creating a future that is more
sustainable, healthier, and safer for our valued customers."
