SLC Secretary General, on Zayed Humanitarian Day 2026

March 07, 2026 - Zayed Humanitarian Day embodies our nation’s profound sense of loyalty to

noble human values and to the principles of brotherhood, compassion, and solidarity - values

deeply rooted in the ethos of our nation and inspired by the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin

Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the United Arab Emirates.

This occasion, which coincides with Ramadan - the month of mercy and forgiveness - underscores

the deeply ingrained spirit that defines our society and culture. It also highlights the UAE’s

distinguished record in humanitarian and development efforts, as well as its unwavering

commitment to supporting our fellow human beings around the world without discrimination or

bias.

In reflection of the values this day represents, we at the Supreme Legislation Committee in the

Emirate of Dubai (SLC) chart a guiding roadmap to further develop a legislative ecosystem that

supports our nation’s enduring commitment to generosity and giving, ensuring that the UAE

continues to strengthen its global leadership in humanitarian action.
