Abu Dhabi: The Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development has launched a new “Funding on the Spot” initiative to support business owners with faster access to
finance. The announcement was made on April 22, 2026, during the Abu Dhabi Global Entrepreneurship Festival held at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center. The event
brought together entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders to promote innovation and economic growth.
The initiative allows entrepreneurs to receive immediate funding assessments during the event. Applicants can get on-site advisory support, check eligibility, prepare
documents, and complete application steps quickly. Officials said the program targets Emirati business owners aged 21 to 60, especially those looking to expand in k
sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, technology, tourism, and industry.
According to officials, the festival also focused on building future entrepreneurial talent. A “Young Emirati Traders” competition was launched under the patronage of
Rawdha bint Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, targeting youth aged 6 to 18. The initiative aims to develop business skills through practical learning and raise awareness
about artificial intelligence, clean energy, and financial literacy. Workshops and panel discussions were also held, where experts shared insights on starting and
managing businesses.
The background of these efforts lies in the UAE’s strategy to strengthen small and medium enterprises and diversify the economy. The Khalifa Fund has supported
over 1,200 projects with funding exceeding Dh1.8 billion. A new partnership with the Abu Dhabi Youth Business Council aims to improve access to finance and conne
entrepreneurs with investors. Officials say such initiatives are key to positioning Abu Dhabi as a global hub for entrepreneurship and innovation.
