Interactive competitions were featured in the event to encourage community participation and unity
among the attendees, resulting in a positive and supportive atmosphere that complemented the
special day.
Mariam Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Director General of the Family Development Foundation,
highlighted how the Zayed Humanitarian Day is an annual occasion to derive inspiration from late
Sheikh Zayed’s legacy of giving and tolerance.
According to Mariam Mohammed Al Rumaithi, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan fostered a
culture of charity and humanity among Emiratis, establishing the nation as a global leader in
humanitarian assistance.
The Family Development Foundation puts this approach into action by promoting social cohesion and
creating a welcoming environment for all groups, especially those who visit the city.
Al Rumaithi added that the FDF’s participation in the event alongside guests of the Emirates
Humanitarian City is in accordance with its mission to strengthen social responsibility and adhere to
the sustainable humanitarian work model established by the late Sheikh Zayed.
Additionally, Al Rumaithi explained that FDF’s participation in the Zayed Humanitarian Day reflects
the vision and directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Nation,”
Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and
Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, which aims to instil
humanitarian values and enhance the spirit of social cohesion among community members.
Mubarak Al Qahtani, official spokesperson for the Emirates Humanitarian City, confirmed that the City
values its guests and works to provide a safe and comprehensive environment that meets their
humanitarian and social needs.
In addition to providing housing and other amenities required to guarantee a stable and respectable
life, the City provides comprehensive support through integrated services, such as healthcare,
education, and psychological rehabilitation.
Al Qahtani also praised the FDF’s efforts to assist and care for families and their well-being, as well
as its excellent treatment of the City’s humanitarian guests by offering them social and psychological
support through a range of programs designed to meet their unique needs.
Wafa Al Ali, Acting Director of the Family Development Department at FDF, indicated that the FDF’s
participation in the Zayed Humanitarian Day aims to raise awareness among guests and provide
individuals with psychological and social support, in line with its commitment to the humanitarian
values embraced by the UAE.
Al Ali pointed out that one of the most notable events hosted by FDF was the “Zayed Humanitarian
Library: Zayed’s Legacy,” which highlighted the principles and values of charity instilled by the late
Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
