Abu Dhabi: The UAE surpassed one million air traffic movements in a single year in 2024 – a
significant milestone in the UAE’s aviation journey. According to data from the General Civil
Aviation Authority (GCAA), the sector witnessed an average air traffic growth rate of 10.3 per cent
in 2024 compared to 2023. On December 22, 2024, the one-millionth annual air traffic movement
was recorded by the GCAA with the arrival of Emirates Flight 305 from Shanghai.
