UAE sets historic record with over 1 million air movements in 2024
The Emirates Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) announced that the Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Center, responsible for
air traffic management of this organization, recorded more than one million air traffic movements in 2024.
According to Amac News: Based on a statement issued by the GCAA today, this achievement shows the fundamental role of the
UAE as a global aviation hub.
Crossing the threshold of one million air traffic movements in a year is indicative of the continuous efforts of GCAA and Sheikh
Zayed Air Navigation Center to provide air navigation services that meet the expectations of global airlines and improve the air
travel experience.
The Minister of Economy of the UAE and the head of the GCAA said that crossing the threshold of one million air movements in one
year shows the UAE's commitment to developing the aviation sector as one of the pillars of the national economy.
On December 22, 2024, the one millionth annual air traffic movement was recorded with the arrival of Emirates Flight 305 from
Shanghai.
In 2024, the Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Center also saw improvements such as integrating advanced systems and adopting
innovative solutions to improve airspace efficiency and reduce delays.
