On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff, the Passyunk Avenue Revitalization Corporation
(PARC) is pleased to present you with its Annual Report for 2016.
PARC shares a dual mission as both a non-profit real estate development/management company and
public space maintenance/enhancement organization. What does that mean? Essentially your rent
goes back into building preservation, public space improvements, and maintenance to areas such as
the Singing Fountain, Mifflin Triangle, and other services that support the Avenue and surrounding
neighborhoods such as East Passyunk Crossing and Passyunk Square.
Here are a few highlights from 2016:
• Daily cleaning of the Singing Fountain, Mifflin Triangle and the Gateway;
• Seasonal maintenance of 70 trees on the Avenue;
• Seasonal maintenance of the Singing Fountain;
• Trash pick-up and cleaning for events e.g. Flavors of the Avenue, weekly Farm to City Farmers Market;
• Sponsorship of special events, e.g. Holiday Tree Lighting at the Singing Fountain;
• Support of the three-valet parking stands on the Avenue;
• Installation of seasonal flowers along the Avenue and in window boxes of PARC properties;
• Trash removal six days a week.
In 2017, PARC will welcome two new commercial tenants, Manatawny Still Works and Rival Bros.
Coffee Roasters to the Avenue. Another significant change will be PARC’s investment in the 12th
and Morris Street intersection. This redesign will provide a more seamless and pedestrian friendly
crossing along East Passyunk Avenue which will support businesses and residents alike.
PARC looks forward to another promising year of supporting the residents and businesses that call
East Passyunk Avenue and its surrounding neighborhoods home.
