A town on the Suffolk coast has been named among the best places
for classical music in a round-up by a national newspaper.
Last week, The Times listed seven places in the UK to visit to relax
and unwind to classical music.
Aldeburgh took the top spot with its strong and historic connection
to the genre.

The national newspaper said: "Come to this coastal town for the
composer Benjamin Britten's former home, the Red House, as well as
year-round concerts from visiting trios and quartets.
"When you've soaked up the sounds, go for a walk along its shingle
beach to see Maggi Hambling's sculpture Scallop and fill up on fish
and chips at the town favourite Aldeburgh Fish & Chip Shop."

There are many classical musical events happening in the town this
year – including the 75th Aldeburgh Festival of Music and the Arts
taking place in June.
The event includes concerts, exhibitions, walks, talks and films.
It is not the first time the east Suffolk town has been mentioned by
the national newspaper this year.
At the start of the month, The Suffolk in Aldeburgh was named
among the UK's best places to stay in the UK and one of the UK's best
foodie hotels.
