Elizabeth Sills, PRS Foundation’s grants & programmes manager, said: ‘This targeted
and timely support for composers who are ready to develop their careers to the next
level, is vital now more than ever in these uncertain times. I look forward to
following the progress of each of the composers and their exciting new music
projects.’
The six composers who will receive the grant are:
• Dani Howard for the recording and release her debut album with the Royal Liverpool
Philharmonic Orchestra
• Cassie Kinoshi to create a new work in celebration of Caribbean and West African culture
• Kerry Andrew for the development of a Music Catalogue Website
• Matthew Herbert to support composition, collaboration and preparation for the international
touring of a major new work with the LCO choir and jazz musician Shabaka Hutchings
• Greg Caffrey to fund Dolby Atmos recording of new works
• Richard Baker to fund the release of orchestral and ensemble works
Launched in 2016, the Fund is designed to support composers at pivotal stages in
their career. Successful applicants must therefore make a significant cultural
contribution in the UK and an impact overseas as well as demonstrating critical
acclaim and the potential to achieve a significant profile. You can find more

The next deadline to apply for Composers’ Fund support will be announced in 2023.
