Happy Spring Everyone!

So I didn’t get as much snow as I wanted this winter. but
I have to say the first warm day we had a few weeks ago
felt really good. And, that day, I noticed the first signs
of my tulips. My Mom bought me the bulbs when I first
moved back to North Haven twenty three years ago when

I thought I had a green thumb. I don’t and I’m not a fan of
dirt or worms, so gardening was not in my future, but the
tulips my Mom made my Dad plant for me still greet me

every spring.
The warm weather brings back activity to our town and some new businesses.
What Is A Maypole Dance?
The new DMV in the center of town, the Kick-Boxing Studio, Revolution Fitness

opened and I hear rumors of a new restaurant. And, in true small town fashion,
we will have a Spring Festival on the Green on Saturday, May 4. What better way
to celebrate the season! And, again, it’s because of all the generous, town-spir- 8
ited businesses that supported the effort. And they get caught up in my enthu-

siasm. I love anything that resembles a party! But I have to admit, I was shocked

at the number of people who didn’t know what a May Pole was. For me, I have a
clear memory of a kindergarten May Pole with a pink ribbon that had my name
on it, no matter who was in my way! Those who haven’t had the pleasure of 13
