The interior is one
of the more colorful ones
we’ve seen in quite awhile. The
two standout features are the right-
hand drive steering wheel and unique
shifter arrangement. There are four levers
on the floor. One controls first gear and reverse,
another control second and third gears, another
engages overdrive and the last one raises and lowers
the car, which is bagged in the rear.
So how does a Brazilian attorney become a rat
rodder? “Well, my father Augusto Bittencourt, was
a bicycle mechanic, I always worked with him until I
finished college. It was with my father that I learned
everything I know about mechanics, both bike and
car, the principle and mechanics is the same. I see
a lot of videos on the internet and I read a lot about
mechanics too.
I’m passionate about the American way of putting
your cars in their garages, it shows how the people of the
United States are hardworking and united. I see in American
programs that many dragsters and hot rods are built with the
help of friends, relatives, wife, etc., that’s something fascinating.”
The mechanical bug has bitten the rest of his family, as his
son Lucas races 600cc bikes, and his wife Liege is always there to
support his endeavors.
Hey Editor Jerry – if you need to send somebody down to Brazil for a
follow-up, I’m your guy. Just sayin’…
