Custom suspension airbags
keep everything smooth. The
'Power Adder' T-53 turbine
weighs 600 pounds, and aids
with traction considerably.
This old truck has come a
long way from the little town of
Oglesby where it was found.
The Dietze family also brought
out a cool 1954 Chevy rat COE
called 'La Chata'. The modifi ed
towpig has a huge amount of
steel in the custom fl atbed, but
it's on airbags too..... so it's cool.
We watched as local artist Blue
Rooster pinstriped the truck to
perfect effect. These two vehicles
impressed a tough crowd at
a very cool show, but most
of all-they inspired me!
I was humbled to have met
the Dietzes, and learned his
story of service to our great
country. I was in awe of the
attention to form and function
of the Heli Rat, and in love with
La Chata. Kevin said this was
his fi rst rat rod build, but won't
be his last. His wife of 33 years,
Roseanne, on the other hand,
says she can't wait for him to go
back to shiney cars.
Thank you for you and your
family's service to this country
Kevin Dietze! We appreciate your
contributions and are inspired by
your American ingenuity.
