Ford transmission was purchased from Rohner
Auto Parts, and Windy Hill Auto Parts supplied a
                lightened fl ywheel and clutch.
Greg and his crew further personalized the
car with Hudson taillights, Blue Bird bus rear turn
signal lights, a junkyard banjo steering wheel,
Ford 16-inch wire wheels shod with NOS wide
whites, used head lights of unknown origin, and
pin striping by Coop from Ohio. They added a
little new sheet metal in the fl oor, a new fuel tank
and she was ready to drive. All in all, a great repair
job on an honest-to-God classic early rat rod. Says
Greg, “We had more fun repairing this roadster
than most of our frame-up new builds. Like they
say…they don’t build them like this anymore. When
this 1939 Ford roadster was purchased, I decided
not to restore but to repair and preserve the
                craftsmanship, engineering, and fabrication. The
previous owner had a great vision and outstanding
workmanship. This car is such a great piece of
                Americana history.”
Special thanks to Bob Hood at Hot Sam’s,
Andy and Davey Bajari of Windy Hill Auto Parts,
and Rohner’s Auto Parts. Greg is trying to fi nd out
the history of this car, so if it looks at all familiar
to anybody out there, contact Greg at S.W.
