op choppin has been a staple of the Rod
World since the Rod World began. Opinions
about that very subject were born on the
Theels of the very fi rst chop as well. We could
fi ght over techniques till Jesus comes back, but the
truth is, once the sawsall is in hand, it separates
the men from the boys. An A Model chop is fairly
simple, and 40’s and 50’s trucks are not much
harder, however, a chop on something as weird as
this 53 Willys Overland Wagon is a different animal,
and would well be worth talking about, just in case
you’re ever crazy enough to try it. I talked about
shortening and sectioning this Willys as if there
was little to it, and truthfully these jobs are relatively
easy. The top chop, not as much.
