Until now.
‘Frankenbug’ was built to get back in the
ring with the other heavy hitters at Las Vegas
Motor Speedway. But why a VW bug? Jac
says, “I wanted a non-conventional car… and
make it in the style of an old-school dragster
with a Bantam/Fiat body because I’ve always
wanted one. But since those bodies don’t exist
anymore, I decided to cut up a VW bug to
get the same look.”
He started with a running ’65 bug
that he got for $1000 and immediately
separated the body from the
floorpan and engine.
Not someone to let
anything go to waste,
the mechanicals were
freshened up a bit and
were transformed onto
a little runabout called
‘Tiki-tastic’ that is now
permanently on vacation
shuttling people around
somewhere down in Mexico.
