As we said, Rooster does what he does all
by himself. “I’m a poor guy. I don’t have a lot of
money, even though people know me from the
other stuff I’ve done. I’m all about a budget build. I
build stuff that I can afford to build. I’ll never have
the money to have a $25,000 rat rod. I collect stuff
and go to fl ea markets. I make most of my parts
with a grinder and a drill. It’s a way of life for me.”
That way of life got started a couple of
decades ago about the time he had lost his father
– a man Rooster loved and admired. Back in the
day, Rooster’s dad used to take a couple old cars
and make one running one on a regular basis.
Rooster had built a couple bikes and cars, and at
that critical point in his life, he made an important
discovery. He realized that his passion was bikes
and cars. “That kept
me out of trouble, but
it got me into some
trouble, too. Everybody
needs something to
occupy their time so they
don’t feel lost. My dad
was one of those heroes
we all grew up with. A
great man with a great
philosophy on life.”
