doing the best they can. Socrates said man always chooses the good. Man can only choose the good. His only error is that he does not know what is for his own good. Everyone makes the best decision they can at the time.
This simple message has been said time and time again throughout history, “The only sin is ignorance.”
If we accept the fact that we do what we do because we don’t know better, then our path becomes pretty straightforward, doesn’t it? How can we learn more and grow more so that we can make better decisions? How can we be just a little more enlightened?
Paul Martinelli often says, “The perfect curriculum for your growth is whatever lies in front of you right now.”
I find this a very empowering train of thought.
 We are all perfectly imperfect.
 No one is any better than anyone else.
 No one is any worse than anyone else.
 We are all doing the best we can.
 We can all do better.
 We all have the opportunity to learn and grow.
 As we learn and grow we make better decisions.
 As we make better decisions our life improves.
Isn’t it nice to think that we are ALL doing the best we can? It certainly makes pride seem pretty empty and forgiveness much more of a rational decision. Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us.
