SELF IMAGE & AUTOMATIC SUCCESS MECHANISM 21
Your Creative Mechanism can deliver positive results or negative results, it doesn’t mind which, it just delivers what it is told. And it does it automatically. It will act as an automatic failure mechanism or it will act as an automatic success mechanism depending on the goals that you communicate with it. It will deliver goals of happiness and success or goals of misery and failure.
The goals that are acted upon are communicated through images and the most powerful and important of these is the Self Image.
Maltz said that through our experiences, that is through our thoughts and feelings, actions and reactions to what happens to us, we describe the problem to be worked upon, the objective to be achieved.
If the message that you send your Creative Mechanism most often is that you are not worthy and that you do not deserve to be successful, your Creative Mechanism becomes an Automatic Failure Mechanism.
Your Creative Mechanism uses the ‘benefits’ of past experiences to assist in solving future problems. It will tap into your vast storehouse of stored information and look for guidance. If you have long memory for every time you’ve messed up and a very short memory for when you’ve done well, it will find plenty of evidence to suggest you should steer clear of almost everything!
If you have a long memory for your triumphs and a very short memory for your disasters, it will find plenty of evidence to suggest you plough ahead and make a success of this too.
WHO’S IN CHARGE?
Initially it may be strange to consider that your mind does things that you are not controlling with your attention and your will. But actually, there is far, far more going on with your Spirit and Mind and Body than you are consciously controlling. If you doubt this, ‘will yourself’ to sweat!
