90 SELF IMAGE MASTERY ACTION GUIDE
 Visualization Exercise 3 : Observer & Experiencer Part B
In this version of the Observer & Experiencer exercise, you will start in exactly the same way as you have done in Part A.
This simple exercise is a great way to increase your awareness of how and what you think. It will help you begin to practice the skill of focused attention, develop your ability to quickly relax and it will also help you become more and more aware of your self talk and particularly your inner critic.
If you have not done so before, as you tune in to your own internal chatterbox, you may initially be shocked at how mean you are to yourself! But awareness of how you talk to yourself is the beginning of changing how you talk to yourself, so don’t be alarmed, don’t be an ostrich .. just stick at it!
If you do stick at it, you can eventually become your biggest cheerleader rather than you harshest critic.
Imagine you are staring at a point in the center of your forehead (still with your eyes closed) and just start to gently monitor your thoughts.
You can’t do this exercise wrong. If you drift off and completely forget what you are doing, when you realize, bring yourself back to your thoughts and silently comment how interesting. Forgive yourself (because this is perfectly normal!) and then continue.
You will probably find the exercise very refreshing and enlightening after just a few minutes.

In the second part of this version of the exercise, you will flip from the observer of your thinking and feeling to the experiencer.
