Dear SCCTM Members and South Carolina Mathematics Educators,
On behalf of the 2025 SCCTM Conference Planning Committee, I extend a warm
welcome to the annual South Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics Annual
Business Meeting and Conference. This year's event is taking place once again in
Greenville, South Carolina, and the conference team has put in significant effort to
create a program that showcases a wide range of opportunities, offering more than
150 sessions.
Greenville, South Carolina, will be the hub of mathematics professional learning
and collaboration from November 20 to 21, 2025! Our planning committee has curated a
diverse selection of sessions and opportunities centered around the powerful theme of "Making Math
Matter: It's A Way of Life with Infinite Possibilities." Just as NCTM has long advocated for fostering
connections between mathematical concepts, bridging mathematics with other disciplines, and linking
mathematics to everyday life, the SCCTM Conference Planning Committee encourages you to establish
connections with the numerous professionals who gather in Greenville to fortify our community of
mathematics educators within the Palmetto State and beyond.
Our speakers, including the highly anticipated special event speaker, teacher-turned-comedian Eddie B,
will inspire you to embrace the idea that "Making Math Matter: It's A Way of Life with Infinite
Possibilities." Throughout the conference, you will uncover strategies to enhance your connections with
colleagues year-round, ensuring that the passion for mathematics resonates across South Carolina,
benefiting students throughout the Palmetto State.
The SCCTM Board is enthusiastic about your participation in the conference, and after corresponding with
many of you via email, I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to greet you in person. During the conference,
you will both learn from others and impart your knowledge to fellow attendees. Our ultimate objective is to
foster a robust, reflective, discerning, and engaged community of mathematics educators who are all
committed to continual growth, enriching education across South Carolina. The SCCTM Board eagerly
welcomes you to Greenville as we collectively share our dedication and passion for the schools, students,
and families we serve. May you have a fantastic experience of learning, reflection, and growth at SCCTM
