Jisr az-Zarqa Tunnel: In the past the tunnel was cleaned out, making it possible village
to walk its entire length. Shortly thereafter, the tunnel was again blocked by refuse

The Lower Level Aqueduct begins in this lake, which formed north of Caesarea, ➌ Artificial Lake
between the Carmel Range and the kurkar ridge to its west, as a result of damming ➍ Lower Level Aqueduct ➋
the natural fissure in the kurkar ridge, through which the water of Nah. al Tanninim ➎ Upper Level Aqueduct
and Nah. al cAda flowed into the sea. The length of this dam, which is on the
