RRA begins search for general manager
NEW CHAIR OF ARC BOARD
MICHAEL Bennett has been elected the new chair of the Australian Refrigeration Council Board.
Bennett replaces outgoing chair and RACCA president, Kevin O'Shea.
The ARC also welcomed Larry Moore of the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA), Brett Meads, of the Vehicle Air Conditioning Specialists of Australia (VASA) and John Khoury from the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC) to the Board.
On behalf of the Board, Bennett thanked O’Shea for his outstanding efforts leading the ARC Board over the past four years. ARC also acknowledged the efforts of outgoing Board members Ian Stangroome and Brenton Kaitler who also stepped down after reaching their term limits.
DUE TO SUSTAINED GROWTH IN RECOVERY, INCREASED COMPLEXITY CREATED BY THE INTRODUCTION OF NEW AND FLAMMABLE REFRIGERANTS, AND A CONTINUOUS DRIVE TO IMPROVE OPERATIONS, REFRIGERANT RECLAIM AUSTRALIA (RRA) IS SEEKING A NEW GENERAL MANAGER.
RRA’s Michael Bennett
THE RRA’S LONG-STANDING general manager, Michael Bennett, will step aside redi- recting his focus to more specific programs and initiatives such as research into residual refrigerant charges in the split AC sector and enhanced training initiatives with TAFE. He will also strongly support the new general manager, who is likely to commence work in the first quarter of 2019.
Bennett has enjoyed an outstanding career with RRA which operates one of the most successful product stewardship programs in the world.
Bennett has spent decades delivering on RRA's mission to reduce the RAC industry's impact on the environment.
His leadership and commitment has ensured RRA is recognised as a global leader in the recov- ery and safe disposal of ozone depleting and syn- thetic greenhouse gas refrigerants.
PricewaterhouseCoopers has been given the job of finding a new general manager.
New beginning for Lennox in Australia
THE LENNOX PRODUCT development team is working to expand its offering in 2019 with a particular focus on the Australian market.
Launching its new air conditioning range for the local market, Heatcraft marketing manager for Re- frigeration and HVAC, Kirk Buckley, said the range represents a new beginning for Lennox in Australia.
“Creating the perfect indoor environment is what the new Lennox air conditioning range is all about,” he said.
“The reverse cycle inverter wall split systems are equipped with the intelligence to deliver more precise temperature control and greater comfort.
“Advanced 3D airflow circulates cold air from the bottom of the room and hot air from the top of the room, preventing pockets of hot and cold developing.
“Air quality is improved by way of photocata- lytic filters which eliminate bacteria, viruses and unpleasant smells.”
In addition to air quality and comfort, Buckley said the focus is also on energy efficiency which is why Lennox has included gold fin corrosion protection on the outdoor coil.
“This is to not only improve efficiency, but pro- long the life of the coil as well,” he said.
Gold Fin protection improves efficiency by ac- celerating the defrost process and offers greater resistant to corrosive elements.
Buckley said Gold Fin coils perform up to 20 times better under salt spray testing when com- pared to blue fin coils.
The new Lennox Split System Inverter range offers 5 models from 2.5kW to 8.5kW.
This is in addition to the new Multi Split In- verter and Ducted Inverter ranges also available this month.
