                Commercial Air Conditioning
Harness the power of Wizard technology
THE NEWLY CONSTRUCTED, 83 Pirie Street, Adelaide, has achieved world class energy efficien- cies and environmental standards with 17 levels of office space and 360m2 of lettable retail space.
With a focus on sustainability and wellness, a state of the art HVAC system was required with a total of 36,620 l/s of pre-cooled outside air to supply the building’s air handling units.
The project also called for seamless connection to the Building Management System allowing for automatic, continuous, safe, unattended opera- tion of the building’s air conditioning system.
It also had to meet WELL Building Standard requirements for a Gold WELL rating.
After evaluating project requirements, Seeley International’s Climate Wizard air condition- ing technology was selected as the most effi- cient solution.
To meet the various needs and challenges, 6 x
LEFT: The installed Climate Wizard system has saved 199.3 kW of peak input power.
CW-H15S Plus units and 4 x CW-80 units were installed, delivering a total of 37,300 l/s pre- cooled, outside air into the plantroom as a ple- num providing treated fresh air for the air handling units located within the plantroom.
The total input power for 6 x CW-H15S Plus and 4 x CW-80 is 53.2 kW. A baseline DX system handling the total outside air heat load would have an input power of approximately 252.5 kW delivering a typical COP of 2.9.
The installed Climate Wizard system saves 199.3 kW of peak input power, which is equiva- lent to a 79 per cent reduction.
The resulting performance of the instillation has contributed to several highly regarded certifications, including: 6 Star Green Star Design & As-Built Certified rating, a 5.5 Star NABERS Energy rating, a Gold WELL rating as well as a PCA A Grade rating.
Digital twin
partnership
JOHNSON CONTROLS HAS partnered with Willow, a leading provider of digital twin solutions.
The global collaboration will digitally trans- form buildings and facilities into healthier, safer and more sustainable environments for customers.
Johnson Controls and Willow have commit- ted to jointly bring next-generation solutions to their customers.
Digital twins are playing an increasingly important role in the design, construction, and ongoing operation of healthy buildings and facilities and can be particularly valuable when analysing large datasets and predicting pat- terns and trends.
Chief commercial officer at Johnson Controls, Rodney Clark, said this is an opportunity to help customers reimagine what is possible when they digitise their buildings and facilities at scale.
By integrating the power of WillowTwin with Johnson Controls OpenBlue Digital Twin plat- form, customers can obtain operational effi- ciency and cost reductions, improve their sustainability management and improve IoT/ Operational Technology security across their buildings and facilities portfolios globally."
 Designed for humidity control
THE MODINE MANUFACTURING Company has launched its latest ventilation solution, Sentinel High Humidity.
It is designed to provide accurate tempera- ture and humidity control in humid climates with a dual coil/fan arrangement.
With a dedicated outside air pretreatment coil, the unit is able to introduce dehumidified, comfortable air and provide high-quality ventilation.
The strategic marketing manager for the IAQ division at Modine, Kimberly Raduenz, said one of the company’s main goals is
engineering cleaner, healthier air through innovative HVAC solutions.
“Thanks to the dual coil and dual fan arrange- ment, the Sentinel High Humidity can introduce clean, outside air into the room without high levels of moisture being an issue,” she said.
The Sentinel High Humidity can dehumidify outside air up to 500 cubic feet per minute thanks to the dedicated outside air pretreat- ment coil.
With the coil, the outside air is dehumidified before being mixed into the return air and passed through the primary coil.
Ideal for humid climates.
