tna boosts productivity with new ‘Perfect Pair’
Global food processing and packaging solutions experts, tna Solutions, has added the brand-new auto-splice 3
to its packaging portfolio – making the ‘Perfect Pair’ alongside the robag 3e, which was released in 2021.
The innovation helps food producers address the growing concerns over labour shortages and rising resource costs by enhancing production efficiencies.
The advanced systems together deliver a new CXE integrated display controller and automatic film splicing, which combined, can deliver up to a five per cent increase in production uptime.
“The Perfect Pair speaks to the challenges our customers face, it’s an evolution of our portfolio that will deliver real-time benefits,” said Alf Taylor, MD and CEO of tna Solutions.
“Leveraging both our expertise and technological advances, this combined solution has been designed for this age of digital transformation and remote services.
“Connectivity is king, and intelligent communication between packaging systems and their auxiliary equipment will allow operators to make their lines work even more efficiently, improving their ROI.”
The simplicity of the tna robag 3e VFFS packaging system makes it easy to operate, service and maintain.
Featuring EtherCAT real-time protocol and an integrated display controller system, this latest tna robag reduces cabling infrastructure by 20 per cent, enabling easier servicing and lower total installed costs.
The robag 3e also shares common core components with tna roflo
distribution conveyors
and the intelli-flav
seasoning system, reducing the need for additional spare parts stocking, while its smart diagnostics and remote connectivity allow real- time communication
for faster global servicing support.
Fast, simple and flexible, the robag 3e features integrated control and a refined design for easy control and maintenance
on-the-go.
It incorporates top diagnostics for electrical components, streamlines the cable architecture
and is assembled with fewer parts than its predecessors – all while maintaining a small footprint, speed and efficiency.
The robag 3e sets high performance and quality standards, capable of producing a wide variety of products at speeds of up to 250 bags per minute.
As well as providing the opportunity to switch quickly and easily between
pack sizes, it delivers maximum production and energy savings for the
same power and resources. Expertly designed for seamless
cohesion with the robag 3e, the tna auto-splice 3 is a compact
solution that splices packaging film automatically, with no downtime or interruption
to the packaging process.
The new rotary reel swapping feature
makes it easier to access and replace the film roll without
having to stop the packaging system,
helping manufacturers maximise throughput and achieve faster, smoother film
changeovers. ■
Nord releases durable drives for belt conveyors
according to the modular principle,” explained Jorg Niermann, head of marketing at Nord Drivesystems.
“This is based on a comprehensive range of frequency inverters, motors and gear units, as well as coupling and brake systems, each with a wide variety of options.
Nord also offers innovative predictive maintenance concepts for heavy industrial gear units.
Nord drives networked via the frequency inverter communicate their status data via the control system or directly into a secure Cloud.
With optional vibration monitoring, condition changes can be detected at an early stage and predictive maintenance can be scheduled in good time.
Performance data recording also ensures optimal system dimensioning, as well as continuous condition monitoring of the drives. ■
Nord Drivesystems has optimised its MaxxDrive XT industrial gear units for bulk logistics applications such as belt conveyor systems, and tailored it to applications where high powers with low-speed ratios are required.
The MaxxDrive XT provides output torques of 15 to 75kNm with speed ratios from 6.3 to 22.4, and is offered in seven sizes for powers from 22 to 2100kW.
The power and speed ranges of the two-stage right-angle
gear unit have been specially designed for industries in which low speed ranges are required in combination with high powers – such as the bulk goods and mineral industries.
Its robust design makes the MaxxDrive XT resistant to dirt and reliable in rough operating conditions. A special sealing concept reduces maintenance, and large roller bearings and centre distances increase the load capacity and service life of the components.
As standard, the industrial gear unit is equipped with a heavily ribbed Unicase housing and an integrated axial fan.
Due to the increased surface and the airflow covers, the cooling airflow is optimised and a very high thermal limiting power is achieved. In many cases, additional cooling is not required.
“As with other application areas, our drive solutions for the industry are individually configured for customers
