Brewing printing savings
New Zealand business Rush Coffee was looking to refine its operations and transition to in-house digital printing on their compostable coffee bags. Trimatt had the solution.
COFFEE supplier Rush Coffee was aiming to print directly onto their coffee bags for various products, in precise quantities, and on demand. Its goal was to streamline processes, eliminate over production, and reduce storage costs.
Rush Coffee founder Hayden Prujean contacted Matt Johnson from Trimatt looking for a solution that would be compact and user friendly. It also needed to be cost-effective while providing a professional finish on paper using waterproof/light fast ink.
Johnson suggested the Trimatt 1170 Digital Printer. It has a 297-millimetre-wide print swath with speeds up to 27m/ min. The HP FI-1000 print engine uses an aqueous pigmented ink, which makes crisp, vibrant prints that are both water-proof and light fast. For Prujean, there was no

Johnson is a firm advocate of the 1170 for uses for short runs for packaging solutions and will be showcasing the Trimatt
1170 at PACPRINT (stand C30) in June.
“This revolutionary digital printer is perfect for SMEs looking to offer greater solutions to their clients for bags, boxes, trays and even handled bags,” Johnson says.
