RUGGED RHEOMETER FOR TOUGHEST MEASUREMENT
AMETEK'S Instrumentation & Specialty Controls Division has launched the RSX Rheometer, with a touch screen for controlled shear rate (rpm) and stress (torque) modes for sophisticated rheological analysis.
With automatic data collection and analysis using the optional Rheo3000 software, RSX Rheometers offer greater flexibility and more features than other high-end rheometers at a fraction of the cost.
DRIVING DISTRIBUTION CENTRES EFFICIENTLY
NORD Drivesystems
provides drive
solutions for parcel
distribution centres,
providing energy
efficiency and version
reduction to reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO), increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
The increasing time and cost pressures caused by the rapidly growing parcel volume from booming online trade means parcel distribution centres need highly efficient drive technology, which ensures high operational safety, minimum downtime, low TCO, and minimal maintenance effort.
Nord Drivesystems has a wide product portfolio, including the patented DuoDrive geared motor, energy- saving IE4 and IE5+ synchronous motors, modern drive electronics for decentralised use and control cabinet installation, and efficient gear units.
The permanent-magnet synchronous IE5+ motor generation – available in ventilated and smooth surface version – is suitable for economical operation in the partial load range.
The patented DuoDrive’s compact geared motor integrates the IE5+ synchronous motor into a single-stage helical gear unit housing, setting new standards for efficiency, installation space, and version reduction.
COMPRESSED AIR ANYWHERE
WHEN a mobile compressed air supply system is required, container solutions can offer the same efficiency, economy, and reliability of a permanently installed station in a lean and flexible way.
Container solutions offer an almost limitless range of possibilities, whether as prefabricated systems that can be deployed on site at short notice, or as custom-tailored systems that are configured and designed to meet an operator’s specific requirements.
They can also be used as a temporary solution to bridge compressed air bottlenecks, as an interim solution or as a permanently installed solution.
One of the core advantages of these container solutions is that they can be installed almost anywhere on site, ready for operation, with reduced costs and minimised set-up time. This is particularly valuable when space is at a premium because they can be placed next to an existing building. They are also an interesting alternative as a supplement to an existing station or as a replacement for it.
As with spatially integrated stations, containers can be set up at different points throughout the plant and still be connected to one another.
Kaeser offers ready-to-run and customised solutions.
COMPACT METER CONTROLS FLOW
THE new compact Flexi-Flow thermal mass flow meters and controllers by Bronkhorst are 35 per cent smaller than traditional instruments and the smallest on the market for flow ranges up to 20 ln/min.
Due to the new sensor technique, the instruments feature very stable flow control, but also very fast control, with settling times smaller than 150 ms.
Flexi-Flow instruments have integrated temperature and pressure sensors and an on-board gas database for highest accuracy, even at varying process conditions.
It means the instruments are adaptable to many applications through their wide dynamic flow ranges (up to 1:1000).
An increased torque motor enables testing and measurement on the toughest of samples. The instrument quantifies meaningful properties like stiffness, wobbliness, sloppiness, consistency, and texture. The large, 7-inch, user-friendly touch screen and graphical display provide stand-alone simplicity for operation by QC users.
The controlled shear stress/shear rate operation makes it easy to study material behaviour from initial yield to flow curve response. Rapid temperature control of the plate with Peltier or fluid heated options provides quick profiling of viscosity versus temperature.
The RSX is available in cone plate (CPS), coaxial cylinder (CC), or soft solids tester (SST) configurations. With optional Rheo3000 software, the RSX can be controlled via a computer for data acquisition and analysis of multiple test files.
The temperature and pressure signals may provide the user with information about the actual process conditions, meaning the Flexi-Flow is more than just a flow meter or controller; it is a multi-parameter measurement/control device.
For easy setup and monitoring of the instruments and your process, Bronkhorst introduces a USB-C port, optional Bluetooth communication, and NAMUR status indication by means of coloured LEDs and digital output parameters.
Flexi-Flow is available in two pre-configured models, as a built-to-order version or as a customised, multi-channel solution. Each includes free and easy software tools for configuration, diagnostics, and predictive maintenance.
Flexi-Flow is available through AMS Instrumentation & Calibration.
