HE EXPANSION INCLUDES invest- ing in new machines and more than 180 new staff.
Ziehl-Abegg CEO, Peter Fenkl, said the new machines allow for faster and
error-free production of modern industrial fans. Despite the global pandemic, he said the glob- al markets will continue to need high-quality electric motors and fans. And while the pandem- ic has had an impact, Fenkl said sales are close to
the previous year.
“A higher than average 8.6 per cent increase in
sales across the industry in 2019 provided a solid foundation,” he said.
“In the current year the Drive Technology Di- vision, which manufactures electric motors for elevators, is enjoying one record high order in- take after the other.”
In the new building, an additional 8,400 square metres of production area will be created for the manufacture of energy-efficient electric motors. “The durable and efficient electric motor has been our core area of expertise for more than 100 years,” Fenkl said.
“Ziehl-Abegg is simultaneously the leader in the technology of biomimetic fan design. How- ever, since many geometries with ideal aerody- namic characteristics cannot be realised in steel
