Scroll compressor to meet energy targets
EMERSON HAS LAUNCHED its new Cope- land 110cc variable speed scroll compressor solu- tion, manufactured in China and available for global distribution.
This new product is engineered to help save energy and provide environmentally friendly im- provements for a broad range of commercial air- conditioning applications including chillers, data centres and package air-conditioners.
“THE NEW COMPRESSOR DELIVERS A 30 PER CENT REDUCTION IN POWER CONSUMPTION.”
Green building guidelines and codes are fast advancing in many countries. Australia’s $3.5 billion Climate Solutions Package to deliver on its 2030 Paris Agreement commitments aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 26 to 28 per cent of its 2005 levels by 2030.
States and territories have also pledged to reach carbon neutrality by at least 2050, how- ever this will require access to products and
systems that support this reduction of carbon emissions.
With building heating, ventilation and air- conditioning (HVAC) responsible for around 20 per cent of electricity use in Australia, the HVAC industry has an opportunity to dramatically re- duce energy use and contribute to national greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets.
In light of inititatives such as the CSIRO’s ‘Net Zero Energy HVAC’, Emerson has devel- oped an integrated compressor technology solu- tion that helps Original Equipment Manufactur- ers (OEMs) create commercial air-conditioning systems that enhance human health and protect the environment.
The new Copeland 110cc variable speed scroll compressor solution delivers up to 30 per cent reduction in power consumption over conven- tional fixed-speed technology.
Compatible with multiple refrigerants, in- cluding R32, an environmentally-responsible re- frigerant, Emerson’s integrated variable speed solution helps enable air-conditioning OEMs to meet energy regulations and building owners to meet future commercial building trends with- out sacrificing performance.

kumar, said the company has invested heavily in the Asia-Pacific region with the opening of the research and solutions centre in China’s Suzhou, Jiangsu Province.
He said 2021 marks the 100th anniversary for Copeland, a testament to Emerson’s commit- ment to provide best-in-class solutions that solve the toughest air-conditioning challenges.
“The Copeland110cc variable speed scroll compressor is front and centre in this endeavor,” Gnanakumar said.
Emerson’s new Copeland110cc variable speed scroll compressor is designed to deliver out- standing part load and full-peak load perfor- mance, enabling OEMs to meet regulatory ener- gy efficiency standards.

vice and expertise from a single partner,” he said. Danfoss Power Solutions president, Eric Al- strom, said the need for technologically innova- tive and industry-changing hydraulic solutions
is as great as ever.
“Combining the two robust businesses repre-
sents a perfect match and provides countless op- portunities, such as increasing our engineering expertise and capabilities, doubling our global application support and extending the value of our Application Development Centres and digi- tal design tools. Adding fluid conveyance and in- dustrial applications are other assets gained through this transaction,” he said.
       Danfoss finalises Eaton deal
DANFOSS HAS OFFICIALLY finalised its $US3.3 billion acquisition of Eaton’s hydraulics business.
Eaton’s hydraulics business will be com- bined with the Danfoss Power Solutions busi- ness segment, adding approximately 10,000 employees worldwide.
The move will see the Danfoss Group grow in size by a third and establish itself as a global leader in mobile and industrial hydraulics.
Mobile hydraulics has been one of Danfoss’ core and most successful businesses for over 50 years. The acquisition of Eaton’s hydraulics business
is a vital aspect of Danfoss’ growth strategy. Combining the two organizations will double the size of Danfoss Power Solutions, increasing
its innovation capacity twofold.
The strengthened Danfoss Power Solutions
will have the broadest selection of mobile and in- dustrial hydraulics products and solutions avail- able on the market, with the full line offering in- cluding fluid conveyance systems.
The company’s distribution channels have also been significantly boosted, while its local application support and geographical reach have increased considerably.
Danfoss president and CEO, Kim Fausing, welcomed the new additions to the company’s workforce.
“By combining the knowledge and experience of the two strong businesses and great teams, our customers will receive an unmatched level of ser-
 Danfoss headquarters in Denmark.
