Each issue we ask industry leaders about their working life. This month we talk to the managing director of Chobani Australia, Lyn Radford.
1TELL US ABOUT YOUR CURRENT ROLE.
As the managing director of
Chobani Australia, I have the privilege of leading and inspiring our people to make a difference using food as a force for good.
Our mission has always been to bring better food to more people, and we do this by not only making delicious, nutritious products, but also by ensuring they are available to everyone – different consumers, in different markets, through different channels.
We make yogurts under the Chobani and Gippsland Dairy labels, as well as non-dairy products such as oat milk and oat yogurt, under the Chobani label.

But since day one, we’ve never deviated from our commitment to make food the right way, not the easy way and we’ve always had the courage to innovate and do things differently.
3
specific role or title, chase new skills and experiences to broaden your skillset.
At Chobani, it’s always been about more than yogurt, we believe that the most important thing we make is a difference. Our Founder and CEO, Hamdi Ulukaya, wants to make the world a better place and together we are finding ways to strengthen the communities we call home and make good food accessible to everyone.
So, for me, I want to ensure that we continue to focus on moving the needle and making a tangible difference for our communities and our planet so that Chobani’s legacy in Australia is about the impact we make, rather than just the deliciousfoodweproduce. ✷

      WHAT HAS BEEN
YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT TO DATE? I’m really proud of having played a part in building the Chobani brand and company in Australia. It’s been a wild ride over the past 11 years – from air freighting yogurt from the US for our launch, to hiring an ex-military jet to ship our production machinery, and even hand-packingorders!

WHAT WAS YOUR
BIGGEST MISTAKE AND WHAT DID YOU LEARN?
In the past, I’ve run into trouble when I haven’t trusted my gut. By nature, I’m not a procrastinator, so when I hesitate on a decision and don’t go with my gut instinct, it usually doesn’t work out. Learning to trust my gut and stick to my guns has been a really important part of my leadership journey.
YOU STILL WANT TO ACHIEVE?
WHAT WOULD
YOU TELL YOUR 25-YEAR-OLD SELF?
Be curious and courageous and be brave enough to try new things.Ratherthanchasinga
