LAND RELEASES SUPPORT DEFENCE INDUSTRY IN ROCKINGHAM
THE City of Rockingham is home to Australia’s largest naval base, HMAS Stirling, and recent releases of in- dustrial and commercial land in the Rockingham Industry Zone (RIZ) are providing businesses with an ideal location to get involved in the local multi-billion dollar Defence industry.
Rockingham is approximately 45 km south of Perth and is a short drive to the Australian Marine Complex shipyards. HMAS Stirling mean- while, is only 4 km across a causeway and has a large presence, housing all of Australia’s submarine fleet and half of its surface fleet. Staff complement on the base is growing - currently hosting more than 2,650 service per-
sonnel and 1,100 Defence civilians and long term contractors.
It is this proximity to so many im- portant aspects of Defence industry that has seen major names including Saab Australia, Leonardo, Ultra and Thales establish themselves in Rock- ingham.
Lots available in the RIZ range from 2,000sqm to 14 hectares in size and are zoned across commercial, light industrial, general industry and special/ heavy industry. The available lots are also suited to a range of other industries including energy, technol- ogy and advanced manufacturing, mineral processing and the future battery industry.
