New Therma is an excellent fit for smaller spaces
LG ELECTRONICS (LG) showcased the new Therma V R290 Monobloc and Therma V R32 Split 4 & 6 kilowatt (kW) air source heat pumps (ASHP) at the ISH 2023 trade fair in Germany last month.
Therma V R32 Split 4 & 6kW models are an excellent fit for smaller spaces and newly-con- structed homes.
The inner workings of the system are hidden behind an elegant black grill that gives the appearance of undulating waves, while the top, bottom and sides of the unit are completed in a sophisticated grey tone that matches well with most colours.
Additionally, the new Therma V R290 Monobloc offers easy management with con- venient remote service.
Software updates and installer settings can be quickly taken care of via remote sup- port, offering customers a hassle-free user experience. Remote system diagnosis is also available via LG's Building Energy Control (BECON) cloud.
Along with providing a leaving water tem- perature of up to 75 degrees Celsius, the Therma
V R290 Monobloc dependably operates at full capacity in temperatures as low as negative 15 degrees Celsius.
LG is also presenting the newest addition to its Therma V R32 Split lineup, the Therma V R32 Split 4 & 6kW series, at ISH 2023. The new models are more compact in size and

lighter in weight than those from the original line-up, which makes it easier for HVAC tech- nicians to install.
Depending on the type of indoor unit the cus- tomer selects, LG's Therma V R32 Split 4 & 6kW solutions come as either a Hydro Box or Integrated Water Tank (IWT).
Embraco upgrades product selector software tool
EMBRACO HAS UPGRADED its Product Selector Software (PSS), a multilingual compre- hensive online tool which provides technical information about Embraco’s compressors and condensing units.
Available in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, the PSS allows users to choose the best solution according to their local needs, offering all the necessary information for selecting the compressor or condensing unit that best suits their needs.
Product strategy senior director for commercial appliances at Nidec Global, André Rosa, with an Embraco compressor.
R&D and product strategy senior director for commercial appliances at Nidec Global, André Rosa, said the new version is available now.
“The most relevant change in the new version is the customised performance and simulated temperature conditions tool. It is a functional- ity within each product page that allows
the user to obtain performance information based on the tempera-
ture condition of the equipment’s installation place,” he said.
When the user enters temperature information (condensation, evaporation, liquid/subcooling, and return/superheat), the user finds specific values for cooling capacity, efficiency, power consumption, and mass flow (gas flow rate).
The tool estimates the performance of the refrigeration equipment under the exact oper- ating conditions of the compressor and there- fore guides the engineer's choice as to which model is most suitable for the equipment.
“Furthermore, the engineer gets the most precise information about the exact point of operation within the system, making the simu- lation much more faithful to reality. In addition to this precision, we can add gain in time by reducing repetitive tests,” Rosa said.

The main advantage of this new digital tool within PSS is that the engineers do not need to develop their own simulation for the compressor.
“With the customisation functionality, the sim- ulation considers physical concepts (such as ther- modynamic properties of fluids and compressor efficiency in each process) in real-time,” he said.
The PSS is used by product engineers when developing refrigeration equipment as well as by contractors and refrigeration technicians.
The PSS is part of a package of digital tools and online channels available on Embraco’s web site.
