Digital solutions supplier Fuji Xerox is now Fujifilm Business Innovation, with the company saying it will focus on solutions and services, in a beyond-the-box strategy.
Fuji Xerox becomes
Fujifilm Business Innovation is in a competitive space, and print business owners have a choice of digital print solutions. “We are the dominant player in digital print solutions,
Tony O’Çonnor, chief sales officer
at Fujifilm BI said. “Our strategy of services and solutions will enable us to maintain our leading position with print businesses. We are positioned to work with our customers on digital transformation in all aspects of
their businesses. We have connected technology platforms, and in the future we will use the technology to benefit print businesses.
“We aim to be a solutions provider, that is the goal. Our joy is to see our customers grow.”
And in addition to its own print solutions – all of which will continue to be available – Fujifilm BI will also now be supplying the entire Fujifilm graphic arts product line, including the Acuity and Vybrant wide format printers, and the sheetfed inkjet
B2 JetPress. Fujifilm BI says that
in the commercial printing field,
by combining the marketability, technologies and product capabilities of Fujifilm and Fujifilm Business Innovation, the companies offer customers one-stop solutions. All current products, solutions and services will continue to be available and serviced as normal in Australia.
O’Connor also hinted at new solutions coming, saying, “The pipeline is strong, watch this space.”
The rebrand also signifies an acceleration of solutions and services that build on technologies related
to the cloud, artificial intelligence, and the internet of things. Sugiyama-san said that Fujifilm
was already advancing strongly in those technologies in fields such as biopharma, functional electronics, optics, and medical – and he said it was only a matter of time before the technology came into print. 21
Fujifilm Business Innovation
An indigenous smoking ceremony at its Macquarie Park HQ marked the beginning of Fujifilm Business Innovation, formerly known as Fuji Xerox, with local managing director Takayuki Togo describing the rebranding as “much more than a name change.”
Fujifilm Business Innovation Corp (Fujifilm BI) is a wholly-owned division of Fujifilm Holdings Corp. Ken Sugiyama, corporate vice president of Fujifilm BI said, “This is one of the most important and exciting changes in our company’s history.”
The new business sees the end of the Fuji Xerox business, the joint venture created by Fujifilm and Xerox to market and distribute products to the graphic arts industry

New beginning: Senior management at the opening of Fujifilm Business Innovation
in the Asia Pacific region, including Australia and New Zealand. Fuji Xerox has had a major impact
on the local printing industry, becoming a key partner of many print businesses. The new entity will now take over that mantle, and aims to step up its presence in the local market.
Originally 50/50 partners, Fujifilm’s stake had risen to 75 per cent when the ink was signed in the deal 18 months ago.
For local printers what they are wanting to hear is Fujifilm BI vice president Sugiyama-san saying that, “95 per cent of the graphic arts products that had been sold by Fuji Xerox were already manufactured
in Japan, including, for print businesses, the best selling Iridesse and Versant series digital presses.”
Fujifilm Business Innovation opens new Melbourne centre
Fujifilm Business Innovation has opened its new Melbourne office and technology experience centre, with the centre showcasing its beyond-the-box strategy, launched when the company rebranded from Fuji Xerox.
Ken Sugiyama, corporate vice president
of Fujifilm Business Innovation Australia, responsible for Australia and New Zealand regional operations, and Takayuki Togo, managing director Fujifilm Business Innovation Australia, cut the ribbon on the new building, with Gary Pert, CEO of local icon Melbourne
Football Club, which is a major customer. Like its counterpart in Sydney, the new

Following a smoking ceremony from Uncle Colin Hunter of the Wurundjeri Tribe, the traditional owners, the guests who attended the ribbon cutting then joined senior executives for a tour of the new facility.
