MTA SA CAMPAIGN
HE MTA APPEARED AT THE
first South Australian Eco- nomic and Finance Commit- tee public hearing recently, taking a stand on behalf of colli- sion repairers and asking for a fair and functional relationship between all parties, including repairers, insurers
and consumers.
The Committee had an opportunity to
ask questions relating to the terms of reference for the Inquiry, addressing is- sues raised in the MTA's submission.
MTA CEO, Paul Unerkov, chair of the Body Repair Specialists Division (BRD), Tom Skothos, former BRD chair and former AMBRA chairman, Jeff Williams and industry engagement specialist, Paul Back, all attended the hearing and presented many examples to support MTAs claims of practices in the industry.
Unerkov said: “We asked the Commit- tee to implement policy and to protect
fairness and business confidence in South Australia by mandating and tight- ening the Motor Vehicle Insurance and Repair Industry (MVIRI) Code of Con- duct as well as protecting consumers from the possible decline of choice, qual- ity and safety of repairs.”
“We view this Inquiry as the first ma- jor step towards creating a fair and func- tional relationship between insurers and collision repairers, whilst appropriately protecting consumers.”
The MTA also directed the Commit- tee towards:
• Abolishing all known variations of
funny time, funny money
•
•
Having concern for the industry wide application of average repair cost models and 'allowances' as lessening competition in the marketplace Increasing provisions of the Small Business Commissioner to enforce the Code of Conduct in a timely manner South Australian Collision Repairers

NOVUS THE DIFFERENCE
THE WORLD’S LARGEST INDEPENDENT AUTOMOTIVE GLASS REPAIR
and replacement business Novus Glass is well underway with the rebranding of its Australian locations.
Its flagship store for the WA region in Malaga is the latest to have undergone a total transformation.
Phil Bailey Head of sales and marketing for Novus WA said: "This new look is such a contrast to our previous branding. In the past we relied on a bold colour scheme to attract the eye, but now we achieve even greater and more striking results through these clean lines and strong identity which are much more modern and in keeping with retail branding today. Customers love it and even the staff comment how great it looks every day when they arrive at work."
The rebranding exercise is just one component of a resurgence of the Novus brand in Australia, with new locations and an expand- ing footprint is helping Novus provide even greater coverage and customer service.
have also appeared at the Parliamentary hearings and the insurers will be next to answer questions before the Committee hands down its findings by the end of this year.
