THE CHRISTMAS CLEAN UP
IT’S HARD TO AVOID A BUILD UP OF DIRT ACCUMULATING IN THE WORKSHOP. REGULAR CLEANING WITH A PRESSURE WASHER WILL KEEP YOUR SHOP’S SURFACES SPARKLING.
END OF THE YEAR GENERALLY SEES
bodyshops cleaning up their workspace in preparation for a fresh start after the break. It has almost become a tradition but it is a chore and everyone is looking to do the best possible job in the shortest possible time with the equipment they have available.
Australian made Spitwater high pres- sure water cleaners are widely used for cleaning in the vehicle repair industry. Two models lead the way. The most popular machine in the range is Model HP12-110DTS, an industrial quality, cold water high pressure cleaner, de- signed and built in Spitwater’s Albury manufacturing plant. This machine is 240 V powered, requiring 15A power. It produces 12 L/min of cold water at 1650 psi pressure and is fitted with a delayed total stop.
The other machine, Model 10-120H is a commercial quality hot water high pres- sure cleaner, sold at an affordable price. Also designed and built in Spitwater’s Al- bury manufacturing plant, this machine is truly a gem - 240 V powered, it offers users most of the benefits of a large in- dustrial hot water high pressure cleaner in a smaller and easier to use package. It offers 10 L/min of hot or cold water at a massive 1800 psi pressure.
Model 10-120H is fitted with a large water cooling tank. This tank acts like a radiator on a car and is designed to al- low full, 100% water by-pass in trigger-
closed mode. The Spitwater cooling tank is a genuine by-pass tank with water be- ing drawn from and returned to it when trigger is closed and machine is operat- ing. This is real protection for your ma- chine from pump over-heating. To heat pressurised water, the machine is fitted with a 27 m long, 1/2-inch diameter, genuine, seamless, mild steel coil. The coil is fitted to the machine in a horizon- tal position, allowing cleaner burning, less sooting and longer coil life.
The heart of all Spitwater machines is the brass head pump with polished, fully ceramic pistons – ideal for our water con- ditions. These two are serious cleaning machines, both locally made, zinc-an- nealed, powder-coated, steel chassis with the trademark Spitwater red steel cover.
Using chemicals, such as truck wash or degreaser with Spitwater machines is simple – both machines are fitted with a chemical dispenser venturi and a 5 litre container. Both models are supplied standard with high pressure hose, high
quality gun with stainless steel back part of lance and a front part of lance with a high - low pressure control.
These machines are absolutely ideal for cleaning repaired vehicles, but how do you use them to clean your workshop at Christmas? Answers are simpler than you think. Using accessories such as flat sur- face cleaners and turbo lances attached to your pressure cleaner will enable you to wash floors, hoists, pits and other hard to get to areas and remove grease, dust and grime that may have accumulated. If you are trying to remove grease with the cold- water machine, using a powerful degreas- er may be required.
Be water aware: if you can’t get the waste water directed to your separator, you may need to collect it with a wet & dry vacuum cleaner and dispose of it cor- rectly. Spitwater offers a large range of these types of vacuum cleaners as well scrubber dryers.
