Vale Peter Marks: Industry visionary
Ralph Moyle: WPO lifetime achiever
FOODMACH director and industry identity Peter Marks has died, aged 66, from cancer, leaving a gap in the company and in the packag- ing industry. The Foodmach team paid tribute to his fellowship, leadership and expertise.

Marks was director of Capability and Export for the company and has been a central figure in the Australian packag- ing industry for decades. He was named in PKN’s 60 of the Best list in 2020.
Marks was the driving force behind Foodmach’s recent Project Med-Con, which saw the company re-engineer Australia’s only medical mask machine in 60 days.
His career highlight was the award-winning Robomatrix, which set the standard for high speed palletising and fast prod- uct changeovers in Australia. ■
AUSTRALIA’S very own senior packaging and process technol- ogist, Ralph Moyle, is the latest recipient of the WPO’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
A stalwart of the Australian packaging industry, Moyle has contributed significantly to the sector for more than four decades.
His years in the industry have seen him lead many teams across the FMCG sector, includ- ing long stints at multinationals Fonterra and Simplot. During his career he has implemented major packaging material and format changes for major Australian FMCG businesses.

educator across ANZ and parts of South East Asia.
In his role at the Australian Institute of Packaging he is an esteemed educator, running numerous training courses, workshops, and lectures. ■
