from the process belt and placed into trays or the infeed of the downstream flow wrapping machine either on-edge or flat. This allowed us to omit long belts with chicanes and make the sys- tem design even more flexible,” explains Daniel Bossel, product manager at Syntegon.
The space-saving design not only minimises conveying distances, but also allows for new system layouts traditionally used in bar production. Despite its compact dimensions, the IDH achieves a maximum output rate of
up to 800 products per minute – combined with its low reject rate and short downtimes, this ensures high overall equipment effectiveness. To see the IDH system demonstrating the future of pick-and-place technology at Interpack, visit Syntegon and local partner Nupac in
Hall 6, Stand A31-B31. ■
NUPAC, SYNTEGON’S LOCAL agent, will join the company at the event with managing director Peter Pontikis
encouraging local Australian companies to “reach out for a tour of the stand, with introductions to the experts and an over- view of the exciting new IDH system”.
Syntegon says its IDH (Intelligent Direct Handling) system is set to be one of the highlights of its stand, featuring pick-and-place technology designed to handle and portion cookies and crack- ers with maximum efficiency and minimal footprint.
The IDH system features a design based on linear motors, vacuum pick- ers, and an integrated vision system that detects the position and shape of
the products. Syntegon says this pro- vides gentle product handling and high output, allowing for loading of different products in both flat and on-edge posi- tions. The number of vacuum pickers can also be adjusted, depending on the respective product and production vol- ume, providing product and pack style flexibility.
“With the IDH, we are launching a compact and flexible solution that offers manufacturers a variety
of options for packag- ing different product shapes and sizes. Cookies and crack- ers are picked directly
