FOODMACH BRINGS TOP TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION TO AUSPACK

ROBOTIC PICK AND PLACE PALLETISER
Foodmach will showcase a pick and place palletiser with a flexible footprint, multiple configuration options and modular design.
“In pick and place palletising, robots are used to pick up single cases, or a number of cases aligned the same way, to place them in the correct location on a layer,” said Foodmach CEO Earle Roberts.
“These multi-pick and multi-place move- ments result in faster cycle times. A pick and place solution has the flexibility to easily change layer patterns from one product to the next, particularly if a simple layer pattern pro- gram such as Robowizard is used.”
Robowizard automatically programs the robot’s path, with no need for complicated software engineering.
“It’s like playing Tetris with robots and car- tons. Robowizard is a true Australian inno- vation, built and supported locally,” Roberts added. “It’s simple to use with unbeliev- able flexibility, accuracy and reliability. Size changeovers can be made in minutes, not days – with no PLC technician required.”
Key benefits include: creating new formats or editing existing formats in less than five minutes; high or low infeed heights; Industry 4.0-ready; intuitive controls; small footprint and modular design; and local support.
CODING TECH TO HELP START-UPS GROW
Starting and growing a business are crucial moments in the life of a company, and changes in production type, rate and even packaging can make things logistically difficult.
According to Foodmach, the challenges include: finding a cost-effective marking solu- tion that can evolve with your company’s capacity needs; picking equipment that is easy to install, use and maintain on your own; and ensuring quality codes every time, even after long storage periods.
The Markem-Imaje 9330 Series continu- ous inkjet printer has been designed to code all products, in all markets, at low to medium speeds. The 9330’s flexibility means it can easily handle evolving printing needs and

ensure quality coding for more than 8000 hours of production.
The specially developed Intelli’Ink portfolio ensures optimal coder per- formance and flexibility when cod- ing different package materials. Also, its automatic cleaning sys- tem coupled with its Intelli’Jet tech- nology provides clean, hassle-free start-ups and quality codes, every time.
As an added bonus, Foodmach said that when you buy Markem- Imaje equipment from the company, it’s fully integrated for Industry 4.0 connectivity.
BEST KEPT SECRET IN FILLING TECHNOLOGY
Foodmach says Mengibar is the best-kept secret in filling tech, and the company is bringing it to Australia, and AUSPACK.
Mengibar specialises in filling and capping for explosive environments and works with the biggest brands in FMCG to help them meet ATEX regulations.
Mengibar leads the way in difficult-to-fill products such as highly viscose, high-foam- ing, swirl-fill, hot, explosive, corrosive, abra- sive or volatile liquids from low to high pH using its world-leading patented technology.
According to Foodmach, you can save between 8-10 tonnes of product loss per year with Mengibar’s scientifically accurate filling algorithms and dispensing technology.
Capping stations for screw-on caps and dosing pumps feature torque control using ‘hybrid magnetic clutches’ developed by Men- gibar from a combination of ‘synchronous’ and ‘magnetic hysteresis’ principles in one single clutch. They’re more accurate and make for improved quality control.
Fast recipe-driven changeovers and even faster cleaning will increase your line efficiency by up to 20 per cent, the company says.
The MassFlow Filler-Capper offers produc- tion rates of up to 30,000 bottles per hour. And when Foodmach installs your filler, it’s integrated for full Industry 4.0 connectivity.
MULTISCAN METAL DETECTOR
While metal detection technology has evolved slowly over the years, food processors’ challenges have changed. There are increasing regulatory demands, retailer detection mandates and greater productivity demands.
“The stakes are higher too, the potential for a costly recall and collateral damage via social media,” said Foodmach CEO Earle Roberts.
Enter the Thermo Scientific Sentinel 5000 metal detector, using Multiscan technology to overcome the limitation of fixed single or dual frequency metal detectors that can miss metal contaminants hidden in product signals.
Multiscan technology scans a combina- tion of up to five user-selectable frequen- cies, making it a universal solution for multi- ple applications. This enables users to identify contaminants up to 70 per cent smaller in vol- ume than previous technologies and provides a high probability of finding ferrous, non-fer- rous and stainless steel metal contaminants.
ROBOMATRIX WRAPAROUND CASE PACKER
Pack sizes keep changing, and it’s a headache to have your case packer adjusted to suit every time they do.
With the new Foodmach wraparound packer, with servo adjustment that features a fixed height magazine, adjusting the pack size is easy. Changeovers are tool-free and gener- ally take less than 10 minutes.
It runs both wide and narrow face cluster packs and is technically different from any- thing on the market. It’s ideal for handling the variations in poorer board quality of heavily recycled boards, the company says.
Foodmach says its case packers are spe- cifically designed for hygiene. There are no hollow frame sections, which are impos- sible to clean, and no horizontal sur- faces where product can accumulate. They’re made from quality stainless steel
for presentation, hygiene and longevity.
Key benefits include: RSC/shelf ready/ wraparound; max production 30 cases/min; complete flexibility; fast changeovers <10 mins; ‘clean design’ framework; Industry 4.0- ready; intuitive controls; small footprint and
modular design; and local support.
